Bio of Matthew P. Galvin
Matthew Galvin is a multifaceted technologist and creative artist who specializes in immersive digital environments.
He has worked in nearly every aspect of technology, web, and audio and video production, including process development, design, budgeting, production, engineering, live performance and installation, post-production, marketing, distribution, licensing, business development, project management, and affiliate management.
Matthew was born in Hollywood, California. He spent most of his youth in and around Los Angeles, working in film and video production and travelling extensively with his family in Europe and the U.S.
He attended U.C. Santa Cruz where he studied cultural theory, art history, digital media arts, electronic music, history of consciousness, and psychoacoustics.

AMP Studios - Monterey, CA: integrated and engineered 12,000 sq. foot digital production and distribution system for CATV and IP distribution. Realtime chromakey and 3d compositing tools in 64bit, diskless uncompressed capture and editing, integrated Avid/ProTools editing.
TAT Studios - Monterey, CA: Integrated and engineered serial digital production and control systems for uncompressed digital component production, editing, and storage, IP distribution over CAT5e, fiber, CATV, and microwave, streaming, media indexing and content library.
MassHysteria, Inc. - San Diego, CA: Integrated production environments and provided internal research and development lab for digital set top systems, media indexing, and streaming media projects for Liberate, Microsoft, AOL, NHL, NBA, and House of Blues.
SonyStyle - San Diego, CA: Sony Electronics e-commerce production and marketing studios, colocated with 989 Studios, featuring uncompressed video editing, audio production, and videoconferencing.
Babalu Studios- Los Angeles, CA: a 2600 sq. foot design-build located in the Wiltern Theater, specifically engineered for live IP multicast and tapeless digital media production. Featured green room, vocal booth, computer automation system.
Magnolia Studios- Burbank, CA: A 18,000 sq. foot ProTools scoring and recording facility featuring a 48 channel Neve console, green room, and six digital scoring stages.
His creative specialty involves digital synaesthesia - the blending of neurological information such as sight and sound. Creative projects typically include computer-controlled lighting, digital audio and video playback, amplification of sound and image, sound reinforcement, feedback and delay effects, optic distortion, and the use of pressurized gasses for inflation and pressurized sound environments.

Low Hanging Fruit (2002) recordings and musings from an abandoned military base. Designed for stage and screen, this remains an unfinished and unpublished work.
This Paycheckadelic Universe (1997) is a 73 minute electronic music concept album starring Myrsten Thwerstyr and The Cheezmophones, accompanied by a feature screenplay and working plan for a feature-length road movie starring the Cheezmophones.
Breathing Different Air (1997) is a 30 minute documentary digital video produced for less than $5000, which Matthew edited and videographed. The project was directed and produced by his sister Amanda Galvin and featured an in depth look at children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Drop Of A Quarter (1996) is an eight minute digital video about drug addiction, homelessness and class warfare.
